What is
my username and password?
You can find more information about your username and
password in the Getting an Account
section.
How do I change my e-mail
password? 
Important!
Your initial password is
your seven digit ID#, however, for security purposes you should change your
password. GroupWise can be accessed
from anywhere in the world using a Web browser and going to https://gw.ashland.edu. The first time you log in,
please use your AU Network Login and password (user name for the login and
seven digit student ID number for the password). When you reach the GroupWise
site for the first time, please change your password. Your password can be anything that is easy for you to remember
(Must have a minimum of 6 characters).
- Select Tools from the menu.
- From the Tools menu, select Options.

- When
you select options, the following window should appear.

- Double-click
on the Security icon.
- When
you double-click the Security icon, the Security Options window should
appear.

- Enter
your current password in the "Old password:" box.
- Hit
the Enter key on your keyboard.
- When
you hit the enter key, the "New password:" and the "Confirm
new password:" boxes should turn white.
- Enter
the password you would like to use in the "New password:"
box.
- Re-enter
your new password in the "Confirm new password:" box.
- Choose
"OK".
What if I've forgotten
my e-mail password, or need it reset for some reason?

How do I forward my e-mail
to another account?
- When
you click on Rules, the following window should appear.


- In
the "Rule name:" box you must
enter a name for your new rule.
- Under
the Add Action drop-down menu, select Forward.
- When
you select Forward from the drop-down menu, the following window should
appear.

- The
From box will default to your name as it appears in GroupWise.
- In
the "To:" box, enter the e-mail address you would like your
e-mail forwarded to.
- Enter
a Subject in the "Subject:" box.
- Choose
OK.
- When
you choose OK, the new rule will appear in the Rules List.

- The
black checkmark tells you that the rule is active:
- To
deactivate the rule but save it for another time, simply uncheck
the box.
- To
deactivate the rule and delete from the list, click on the Delete
button.
NOTE:
If you are Forwarding your e-mail
to another account, please also set a Rule for Deleting the e-mail from
your GroupWise account, otherwise you will receive duplicate copies of your
e-mail in both accounts. The process is the same as setting a Rule for Forwarding
except that you need to select Delete from the drop-down menu instead of forward.
Also make sure that the Forward Rule appears BEFORE the Delete Rule
in the list.
How do I set-up
an Auto-reply for when I am out of the office?
- The steps for setting up an auto-reply rule are
the same as the steps for setting up a forward rule (see above) except you select Reply
from the Add Action drop-down menu.

- When you select Reply from the drop-down menu,
the following window should appear:

NOTE:
If you select Reply to all and receive an e-mail as a member of a group, the
reply will go to every person in the group list instead of only the person sending
the e-mail.
How do I open
attachments in GroupWise?


- When
you select options, the following window should appear.

- Double-click
on the Environment icon.
- When
you double-click the Environment icon, the Environment Options window should
appear.

- Under
the attachments section, change the radio button to "Open attachment".
- Open
Attachment will open the attachment within the software application,
which allows you to edit the attachment.
- View
attachment will open the attachment within the GroupWise viewer,
which only allows you to read the attachment not make changes to
it.
- Choose
OK.
- Choose
Close.
Why don't images appear
in my e-mails?
Before images and graphics will appear in your e-mails,
you must change your setting from text to HTML:

- When
you select options, the following window should appear.

- Double-click
on the Environment icon.
- When
you double-click the Environment icon, the Environment Options window should
appear.
- Select
the Views tab at the top of the window.

- On
the bottom of the Views tab, change the radio buttons from Plain Text
to HTML.
- Plain
Text will only display text not graphics.
- HTML
will display both text and graphics.
How do I delete files
from my e-mail account directory?

- In order
to Delete an e-mail from your mailbox, simply click on the e-mail message
and drag it to the Trash Can.

- If you want to Delete an entire list of messages,
single-click on the first message in the list and Shift+Click on the last
message in the list. (At this point, all of the messages in the list should
be highlighted.)
- If you want to pick certain messages out of a list
to delete, single-click on the first message and Ctrl+Click on any other
messages you wish to delete.
- After you have your message(s) selected, drag the
entire list to the Trash Can.

- Once you have the messages in the Trash Can, right-click
on the Trash Can and select Empty Trash from the pop-up menu to permanently
delete the messages in the Trash Can.
